Autumn

Autumn is a time of sentimentality for me, but also a time in which I feel most alive. Summer is a bland sort of constant. If it isn't that hot, it's bright. And I'll welcome Spring with open arms when it comes around. But Fall and Winter are about the fight. The fight to lasso the emotions and corral the senses. Staying warm is important to me. Being with other people in the warmth is even more important. Don't you feel that?

Creating this years habits for feeling alive because the sun isn't there to do it for you. The danger of course being letting the darkness get the hold of you. That urge to listen to Death Cab (or any similar sad-hibernation habit) must be titrated, but not ignored. Let your emotions embrace the color palate of the dimming harvest, but don't let it define your soul and outlook.

Lesson for this year: Phoenix is a much healthier alternative to Death Cab that allows for emotional color without dragging you too far down.

"Plans" is locked in a most tumultuous time.
